Morning program:
★ Breakfast.
★ At 09:30AM, our concierge representative will meet you at your accommodation for a briefing.
★ At 10:00AM, start of the city program.
★ You will step into a vintage car, driven by your private driver, to explore Havana and cover all important landmarks.
★ Explore historical La Habana Vieja, a part of town founded in the 16th century, on a guided walk. Have exchanges with the locals in what is nowadays like an incredible open-air museum of architecture, art and culture. Learn more about the history of the area while strolling along the narrow colonial streets and interacting with the Cubans. There are many private enterprises, and you will see how the new Cuba is gradually being shaped.
★ Lunch. Your table is booked at a paladar. Lunch is on your own. You can pay the restaurant directly in CUC.

Afternoon program:
You will visit a workshop where battered 50’s cars are lovingly restored into glamorous automobiles that each have a name; Madonna reputedly was carried away by “Nadine.” This is a family-run business that grew out of a passion for vintage cars. It is a typical example of cuentapropista (entrepreneurship) and offers visitors an opportunity to see examples of successful local enterprise in Cuba. Private enterprise is allowed in Cuba within limits. Learn more about this while the owner of this company, once a taxi driver, tells you his story.

For the evening, there are many options. Our recommendation:
★ Visit the cultural project Fábrica del Arte Cubano (Thursday – Sunday, from 08:00PM).
For a fantastic opportunity to learn more about contemporary Cuban art and culture and really interact with local cultural figures, visit the cultural project Fábrica del Arte Cubano (FAC), the Cuban Art Factory. Founded in 2014, it serves to promote the work of some of Cuba’s unknown, albeit rising, modern artists, painters, photographers, musicians, and playwrights. The project is the brainchild of internationally renowned Cuban musician, X Alfonso, whose collaborative multimedia works with other artists sparked his desire to open a local arts space. The Cuban Art Factory hosts several galleries and performance spaces, and you will be able to enjoy exhibitions, live music, and performances by Cuba’s emerging artists, who all address social and cultural topics in their works. Insider tip: combine this visit with dinner at the privately owned restaurant, El Cocinero, next door.

The tour includes plenty of opportunities to both learn about Cuba’s history and engage with today’s Cuba.
★ Visit the Finca Vigia where Hemingway wrote his famous novel, The Old Man and the Sea, and other works. The interior has remained intact, as if Ernest had just left the house for a break in between writing.
★ Explore Cojimar, the sleepy seaside village that served as inspiration and setting for The Old Man and the Sea. Meet today’s fishermen.  See how the locals now live, on a walking tour, which also takes you to Hemingway’s statue, made from old anchors and tools collected by local fishermen. There is a wonderful selection of old artefacts. Delve into gathered piles where you may find rare collectibles including old coins, postcards, posters, magazines and art deco signs from the 1930s.

Day 4: Exploring the Viñales Valley – Jeep private tour

Explore life in the Cuban countryside. You will be driven to the verdant area of the Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After a drive of about 2 hours, the landscape becomes greener. The relative plain turns into a nature sculpture of karst formations, called mogotes - robust, capped mountains, sometimes almost square. They surround a lovely valley with rich, red earth and majestic palm trees. This is one of Cuba’s most fertile areas and where some of the world’s best tobacco is grown, harvested, dried and processed. Some of the finest Cuban cigars are produced here. Highlights include a visit to a Casa del Veguero, a Tobacco Farmer’s House, providing a mini-education on traditional tobacco farming. Learn about the evolution of life in the Sierra de los Órganos (mountain range) where the valley is located. There is an awe-inspiring panoramic view from a lookout point. Interact with the locals as they play dominoes or go about their daily routines. Your English-speaking guide can assist with translation as you learn about the peaceful farm life of rural Cuba. A delicious homemade lunch will be served in a paladar.
Return to Havana for the night.

Today, after climbing the stairs, it reveals striking panoramas of the surrounding area. Trinidad and this valley are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
